FBR Customs, denying the reports of billions of dollars being smuggled abroad, said that it has introduced a track app for the convenience of those who take dollars abroad or bring them to Pakistan.
The procedure of currency declaration at airports has become easier, you are going abroad or returning to Pakistan, you will be able to make an electronic declaration of foreign currency before reaching the airport, FBR has made it possible to take dollars abroad or bring them to Pakistan. Track App has been introduced for the convenience of those.
According to FBR Customs, currency declaration has been made mandatory at airports, now persons under 18 years of age will be able to carry 2500 dollars per visit, while persons above 18 years of age will be able to carry 5 thousand dollars per visit. will be allowed.
Member Customs Operations Mukram Jah Ansari said that an attempt to smuggle foreign currency worth 4.5 million dollars was foiled last year, but there is no truth in the talk of smuggling billions of dollars.
Makram Jah Ansari denied the reports of billions of dollars being smuggled abroad from Pakistan and called hoarding of dollars as the main reason for the shortage, and said that the dollar which was being sold at 210 rupees, 220 and 225 rupees, in Pakistan. 265 and 266 were being found on the black market, while there were reports that the smuggling mafia in Dubai was also buying 270 and 272 dollars.
Makram Jah Ansari said that the State Bank has set a limit for carrying foreign currency abroad. People under 18 can carry $2,500 per visit, $15,000 per year. Persons over the age of 18 are allowed to carry $5,000 per visit and $30,000 per year, but those traveling to Afghanistan can only carry $1,000 per visit and $6,000 per year.
