The Sindh High Court has inquired under which law the Rangers have the authority to stop the citizens' vehicles.
In the Sindh High Court, a petition was heard against Shahri Azam Khan's car being kept in custody. The court asked the Sindh government for a detailed report on the powers of the Rangers.
The court remarked that under which law the Rangers have the authority to stop the citizens' vehicles, whether the citizens' vehicles are being used in terrorism.
The public prosecutor submitted to the court that under the Anti-Terrorism Act, the police have powers along with other law enforcement agencies.
The court ordered to inform within a week what powers the Rangers have in the province.
The court inquired as to which wing the concerned Rangers officer belongs to, who is the officer-in-charge of the concerned district of Rangers, and a detailed report of the incident signed by the officer-in-charge should be submitted at the next hearing.
